Episode 8: Return of the Supermodel Recap

Guest Judge: Coco Rocha, Model

Coco Rocha is the fashion world’s newest and most exciting muse. The designers are challenged to create a look for Coco to wear to a party at New York Fashion Week – one of the most important fashion destinations on the planet. Coco joins the judging panel to decide which frock she will rock and which designer is heading home.
As a young girl in Vancouver, British Columbia, Coco Rocha never expected to become one of modeling’s brightest stars. Her career began when she was performing in an Irish dancing competition and a model scout approached and told her that she should model. Soon after, a meeting with world-renowned photographer, Steven Meisel, led to the cover of the March 2006 issue of Vogue Italia, and there began her meteoric rise into fashion history. In her short career, she has also worked with leading photographers in the industry. Coco is very proud to represent YSL as the face of their new fragrance, ELLE, by Yves St. Laurent. She is frequently featured in the pages of top fashion magazines around the world.

dominic said: im a little dissapointed that we find out who the eliminated designer is and eliminated models before the episode is even put up as a watchable episode on globaltv.com.

Candice said: Haha I agree! It ruins the surprise of who gets eliminated, who wins the challenge! You can't get around seeing who is eliminated because its plastered all over the website!

JM said: No kidding! This happens every week and it's the WORST.

When will this episode finally be posted??

Nikki said: So Genevieve and Jason get to come back! Why not bring back more worthy people. Jason... ok, he's worth... but if it was gonna be down to two people then why in the world not Baylor. He got a dirty deal in that episode and way WAY deserves another chance than that self absorbed Genevieve who is in constant denial of critique. There's hasn't been one time when the judges have given her advise or told her something about her dress that needs improvement. She might have her own style but what the hell is she back-talking to the judges for. She needs to put her eyes back in her head and be more modest and less high school.

What's this about knowing who wins already?

PC said: I completely agree that Genevieve was obtuse to criticism. I find her and Kim's attitudes juvenile. If their designs were so strong, they would not need to resort to putting down other designers who are doing well or resorting to catty and snide comments. The sad part is, both are decent designers and could excel a lot more if they focused on being designers and not playing mind games with their peers. One last thing, I agree with Nikki... You NEVER backtalk the judges (both Genevieve and Kim do this throughout the series) and especially not Iman. Show a little respect for the people who know and have worked in the industry.

cgs said: I cant believe this is how some people watch shows - for a media business this is brutal. It is impossible to watch any episode because it only plays for seconds at a time then jumps ahead - shame on you global. I guess I'll wait for Slice to air it. PS. PCR team - this is where the link from global takes you.

Rosie said: I'm so glad Gene is out - well, I was hoping for Kim to get the boot first because she's such a rude catty person, but elimination of half the mean girls is worth it.

I can't wait for the top three!

I missed the first 15 mins of show and I'm not understanding....

SunnyJessAdeFan said: Wow, I'm simply disgusted by the injustice. Adejoke should have been in the final 3. It was her best work, and she was sent home because of that smug, self-satisfied, dim-witted, immature imbecile Kim. Unbelievable!!! I hope Kim gets what she deserves and works at Winners as a changeroom attendant!

SunnyJessAdeFan said: Just rethinking my last comment - it was insulting to the hard-working people that work in retail. Hard work and integrity is something Kim is just not capable of.

DZ said: I agree.....what the hell are they doing letting that untalented b**ch back on the show. And to send Adejoke home when she has more grace & talent in her little finger then Gen has in her whole body. I think I'm done watching the show and it was my favorite.

Tuesday, 24 March 2009 23:05

Diana said: I can't believe Adejoke was booted all thanks to Kim. Speaking of which, Kim is a piece of work!! And not in a good way. She is a sad, weak person and incredibly insecure. Her unprovoked, horible attacks are unbelievable. She deserves to be out for her poor workmanship and even worse attitude. I feel badly for Adejoke as her outfit was stunning!!

Allie said: Regarding today's episode of Project Runway, I think it is not fair that Adejoke was sent home. Being teamed up with a weak designer does not reflect on her abilities. How does having a strong design eliminate her? This was a challenge where she did not have any control on coming out on top.It was a totally unfair concept in the contest.
In my opinion Kim should have been sent home for her wedding dress remake. That looked like something any 4 year-old could have done for her doll!!
Very disappointing!!

Tracy said: I'm glad to see kim finally leaving the show, she was so untalented and rather than put more work into her designs she instead goes after the MUCH more talented designers. I'm so happy she's finally gone! I do feel bad for Adejoke, that she had to be brought down by kim. They should have split the groups after judging and got rid of Genevieve and kim, I can't believe they even brought her (genevieve) back in the first place.

Wednesday, 25 March 2009 01:43

Maggie said: It is so saad that the show did such an unethical move to bring back 2 others and have Adejoke removed without getting a second chance and it wasn't even due to her incapability. She was paired with the worst of the bunch. That was totally unfair and not ethical. Terrible move on the producers and Iman's part.. a woman who is supposed to stand for ethics and integrity.

Wednesday, 25 March 2009 04:12

maggie said: yes.. they should have split the groups up and gone with the worst designs - namely kim's and gen's!.. even jason's was not ready-to-wear at all.

Ster1 said: Kim had to go. She is horrible. It is so unfair that Adejoke had to leave because of Kim. I thought it would be Sunny, Jessica and Adejoke in the final 3. They deserve it. Giving Jason/Gen a second chance was a bad idea. I don't think they should have "tied" with the Sunny/Jessica team. Jason/Gen were booted off in the first place for a reason! Jason's designs are inconsistent and Gen can't do anything different.
