Episode 5: Something Old, Something New Recap

Guest Judge: Justina McCaffrey, Designer
The eight remaining designers are given new muses for this challenge. Their models are fun, fashionable women who all have one thing in common - they are divorced. Using their old wedding dresses as fabric, the designers must create a design that fits their divorcees’ new lives. Justina McCaffrey joins the judging panel to decide who will win and who will be sent from the show. A successful business woman, entrepreneur and designer, Justina McCaffrey has dressed everyone from movie stars to top political figures. She even created a liturgical vestment for Pope John Paul II. When she designed her own wedding dress in 1989, she had no idea that she was laying the foundation for her own company. Word of her talent spread among friends and family and her designs quickly reached a broader audience. Within a few years, she successfully established Justina McCaffrey Haute Couture.

Winning Designer: Sunny

Eliminated Designer: Baylor

Jeff said: Last night's episode was one that will go down in the books. There's NO WAY the judges can tell Canadians that Baylor is a worst designer than Kim. The only reason why Baylor got voted off last night, instead of Kim, is because he's quiet and doesn't provide "good TV" like Kim.

Kim lead her team in last week's episode down a losing path and in last night's episode she made what was without any question the MOST FUGLIEST dress I've even seen in my life. The only thing FUGLIER than her dress was her attitude towards Jeff: confrontational and border line intimidating. If Kim doesn't like the way the show is being judged, then maybe she should take her anger out on the judges instead of the designers because it's NOT the designers who are making the final decisions on who stays and who goes. But Kim doesn't have the balls or the courage to do that. Instead, like the coward she is, she takes her anger out on her colleague. CLASSY! This child, I can't even call her a woman, is unprofessional, lacks talent and should really get over herself.

CAN'T WAIT FOR KIM'S TRAIN TO LEAVE THE STATION AND THE CANADIAN FASHION INDUSTRY ALL TOGETHER. She represents herself, the industry and the country without any respect.

Karma said: Kim’s dress was BEYOND ugly and so was her attitude! I would hate to see what she is like when the cameras weren’t rolling. All daggers I would guess. Very petty and unprofessional. I guess know one told her you shouldn't need to tear others down to feel better about yourselff. Mix in a happy thought and a bit of self-love!

Nikki said: I am, for the first time totally dissapointed in the judges. BIG mistake. You need to be professional and not a cry baby and a tattle tale and... the judges better do a professional job themselves from now on or I'm going to start to believe that this is rigged like every thing else in this TV world.

Marie said: I would rather wear Baylor dress over Kim dress any day. I also agree with Jeff that the only reason why they are keeping Kim on is because Kim makes for good television when the other people don't. In the end I think that Kim will last until the last or second last episode because they need to have good ratings. If networks don’t have good ratings, then there show does not last another season. I think that most of the crabby people still until the end but never win. Kim’s dress was just ugly, really; really ugly but Baylor dress was not that pretty to because his dress made the women look fat. Kim’s dress is down right FUGLY.
